Roots

Roots both hold the earth and are held by it. They move through the landscape submerging below the surface and re-emerging again, revealing tangled structures beneath the surface. These works translate observations of the forest floor into compositions where structure and growth are inseparable. Color and movement dominate while the works reflect both the physical entanglement of landscape and the deeper idea of rootedness and our connection to the earth.
