Bones

The Bones series was first inspired by a dolphin backbone that was found on the beach. After sketching it, tearing it up and working the drawing into a mixed media piece, I became interested in the connotations of broken bones and how they relate to life and mortality. A visit to The Harvard Museum of Natural History and their collection of animal skeletons provided an opportunity for more sketching and photographing, which in turn led to the series.
